Steps For Installing The Excavator Engine Oil Filter

The engine is the heart of the excavator. In order to maintain the entire operation of the machine, during the operation of the engine, metal fragments, dust, and soot are oxidized at a high temperature, and there is a gelatinous precipitate, and the lubricating oil is mixed with water. The role of the oil filter is to filter out impurities, glue and oil in the water, transport each lubricant to a clean place, extend its service life, and play an important role in the excavator!

Steps For Installing The Excavator Engine Oil Filter

Also be careful when using filters. Let's summarize how to use filters properly.

Tonkee Company offer high quality Excavator Engine Oil Filter with professional technical and after-sales support service with more than 10 years.

Oil filter replacement steps:

Step 1: discharging waste engine oil

First, discharge the waste oil into the fuel tank, place the old fuel tank under the oil pan, open the oil drain bolt, and discharge the waste oil. When draining oil, try to let the oil drip for a while to ensure that the waste oil is drained clean.

Step 2: Remove the old oil filter

Move the old sump below the filter and remove the old filter. Be careful not to let the waste oil dirty the inside of the machine.

Step 3: Preparation before installing the oil filter

Everyone needs to replace the new filter without first having to refuel the filter.

There are two ways to install the oil filter. It is common to install vertically and install a small number of small excavators horizontally. The installation method is different, so there are two cases of refueling:

First, the vertically mounted oil filter element is connected to the oil pump via a fuel line. This type of installation usually recommends that the user replace the filter with a filter element and add oil.

If the new machine is not filled with oil, air resistance will be created in the new filter element. When the vehicle is in the car, the internal lubrication of the machine will fail in a short time, resulting in structural component wear. The advantage of vertical mounting is that the filter element has a better seal and there is little oil leakage.

Correct installation method of oil filter during vertical installation

Before replacing the machine, find a clean environment, remove the protective film, and then add the oil to the new machine. Pay attention to the surrounding environment during refueling, check the oil drum and fuel filler, and ensure that there are no impurities such as dirt in the fuel tank. After filling the oil, the oil is also applied to the seal by hand to improve the sealing performance.

In addition to the laterally mounted oil filter, it is not directly connected to the oil pump through the pipe. This design is not necessary to input before the oil filter is filled into the filter unit without internal air resistance. The amount of oil, while injecting a new amount of oil into the tank, the oil filter can be filled directly with oil.

Correct operation of the horizontal installation of the oil filter

Apply a layer of oil to the new oil filter seal by hand to increase the seal and install directly. At the same time, pay attention to the surrounding environment to avoid introducing impurities when refueling.

Step 4: Install a new oil filter

Check the oil outlet of the oil filter installation location to remove dirt and residual waste oil. Before installation, place the seal on the outlet and slowly tighten the new filter. The filter is not too tight. Generally tighten by hand and tighten with a wrench. 3/4 laps are fine. When installing a new filter element, do not use too much force on the wrench, otherwise it will easily damage the seal ring inside the filter element, resulting in poor sealing effect and no filtering effect!

Step 5: Add new oil to the tank

Finally, inject new oil into the tank and use a funnel to prevent oil from falling out of the engine if necessary. After the filling is completed, check for leaks in the lower part of the engine.

If there is no leak, check the dipstick to see if the oil has been added to the tubing. We recommend adding it to the line. Everyone should check the dipstick regularly in their daily work. If the oil quantity is lower than the lower line, it should be replenished in time.
